Our school visit in Puerto Escondido went really well. There is no better way to get on the spanish speaking fast track then to give public presentations. We had a great turn out from all of the parents of the kids, and it went really well.

Escuela Del Mundo

school 4.jpg

Our first presentation in Spanish was a raging sucess.  School down here just started, and the Esuela Del Mundo is a brand new alternative school.  In order to have your kids go there, the parents much chip in a certain amount of volunteer hours, and the whole community is involved.  They felt very priveledged to have us, and we were very inspired by the results.

They were 5-12 year old kids, so it was a little harder to keep their attention for very long.

We found the hands-on stuff was the most effective.

The kids went CRAZY at this school! One kid had us sign 5 autographs on his shirt, shoes, backpack, paper and postcard! I’m sure his parents are going to be psyched.

This is actually one of the more well-behaved crowds I can remember.

Not to mention……How AWESOME their posters were.

These are some of our favorites yet,

We had events at Adventures Edge and 6 rivers Brewery and a really warm reception in Northern California.  A special thanks to Lisa Beckstead, Kevin Tinney and the whole Kokatat crew for hosting our visit!
Even though it was a rainy, dreary day….. The Morris School filled a lunchroom full of excited kids, and we had a great time!

CALIFORNIA!!!

Along with paddling some great runs in the Sierras, visiting friends and lounging in the sun, we got to visit some great schools as well. Funny thing, when we had it on the map, we were planning to visit Coloma. There was a break down in communication (imagine that), and the next thing we knew, we were scheduled in Colma (4 hours from Coloma). It put is in a random place, but it turned out to be one of the biggest successes yet!

We visited two schools in the Daly City/Colma area outside of San Francisco.
