La Paz, Bolivia

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

Just have to make a special thanks to the fabulous Silivia Datoli from the US Embassy for making our visit to La Paz Bolivia the best stop as of yet on the trip!

Not only did she organize all the events and media for us. She arranged with one of the local fried chicken chains, Pollo Cocacabana to sponsor all of their used cooking oil.

They had a big event as we all heated and filtered the used oil. This is a fast food chain that serves everything on washable treys rather then styrofoam and disposables. They had been saving all the oil from their whole chain, and made a donatioin of 130 gallons of choice soy oil for us. Soy oil does a lot better in the cold temperatures then the Palm Oil we have been using.

The Irish Boyz….on Board!

Saturday, October 21st, 2006

We haven’t had anyone more enthusiastic about sitting in the back seat to date.  These guys are making us laugh around the clock, literally so so much good humor.  We are so stoked to have them on board, they have brought an indescribable great new energy to the trip.

Freemont Solstice Parade

Sunday, June 18th, 2006

Tyler Bradt was seen skateboarding in the naked bikers parade with only a chicken hat. We joined on in the Seattle Art cars show which was really fun. We got to meet all kinds of freaks and some parties on the inner circle!

These FREAKS set up their side show right across from the rig. The only way to tip them was to use an enormous staple gun, and staple dollar bills to their chests!

Special Thanks to Dan G, Tommy, Eric, Nate, Dirk and JD. for throwing us a wikid B-Day Party/O+WP Fundraiser. I think everyone in Hood River was there….a classic. AT’s new location is off the hook
Andy and I were born the same day, June 11 1977 in the same town! We met in college, and our annual reunion is definitely becoming an event in itself.

Closing The Gap

Sunday, June 4th, 2006

WE ARE approaching the end of the National Awareness Tour!! Our turn around time in Northern Alaska is less then a month away.

Schools Schools Schools lately. We never imagined that this would end up being the most special and successful part of the mission. The future of BEC lays more in educating youth then anything. We have been so inspired by the things the kids say, and truly feel they can relate to the message we are bringing about. Thanks to all the kids out there following along with us!

In other news……..

We just booked our inside passage ticket to AK for June 20th.

Ty had his 20th B-day (and a hair cut)!
