The Wine Festival
We arrivedin Mendoza late-and got a sweet taste of the annual wine festival. There was a parade, and loads of good food. We slept in this morning before starting toward Chile.
After hanging around all morning drinking coffee in Mendoza, we set out to try and find a Vineyard to go visit. We got a late start, and missed our wine window. However, to make up for some serious time off the water, we found a sweet waterslide and used a plastic saucer to slide down it!

Hey,
Just saw you guys on the news in Santiago last night. Had never heard of the oil and water project before, but think it’s superb. Good luck on the rest of your trip!

Hey guys,
Loving the trip blog! I just came across your old niftytricks site about your kayak trip to Iceland (where I live). Man, sounds like you guys got the crap kicked out of you. You know it’s really a vacation when someone has to go to the hospital.
I just got hooked up with the kayak club here and am paddling with Jon (your guide), but I’m not quite ready for 40-foot drops yet. Maybe next spring.
Anyway, your trip is winding down… I really hope that you both will take some time at the end and post your reflections on your experiences. Where do you go from here? What has it meant? How will you build on this adventure?
I have been inspired by your travels and the message you guys are promoting. I have always wanted to travel in S. America, but have felt a bit intimidated by stories of crooked officals and highway desperados. Thanks for painting a more accurate, welcoming picture for me and all else following your journey.
All the best and happy travels.
-Erik.
