Biodiesel Comes to Hondouras!
This was a big surprise. It didn´t take us long to figure out that Hondouras has big plans to start mass producing Biodiesel and break free from the massive importation of foreign oil.
They just opened a pump in La Ceiba that sells locally grown Biodiesel mixed with Diesel.

Back in the day, they started all these big plantations of African Palm to make vegetable oil and soap. There just wasn´t enough of a demand for the stuff, and before long, they virtually stopped producing it, and the farms weren´t being used. Now, the government here is planning to go so huge on on Biodiesel that local forresters are concerned about deforestation of the forrest and wetlands.
Regardless, they have a lot of African Palm already producing oil.

This is an African Palm plantation.
