Dead Horse, AK

Dead Horse, Alaska is the end of the road…..litterally. The town consists mainly of facilities for the workers that operate the Prudoe Bay oil fields. It is a buggy, lifeless epitomy of hell on earth; home to the largest oil field in America.

Lucky for us we met Mariya, the cutest girl in town to send us off….

We stuck around just long enough to get this photograph, and post a message about our journey on this board. A special thanks to Deb at the general store…..she is the official keeper of the the Pan-American Hall of Fame tack board.

Boy things sure have changed since I was up there,
I was one of the first operators to go to Prudoe Bay, I worked at Drill site 1 as a drill site operator. This was 1976.
I wouldn’t mind going back up there for a visit but my traveling is about up, I am 83 years old, so I doubt if (I will ever get up there again. Jack Ariola.
