We had the opportunity to visit both the Colter Elementary school and the Teton Science School in Jackson Hole, WY. jackson6.jpg

You could tell that the crowd of kids at Colter Elementary School in the Jackson city limits log some serious days up on the mountain. This school seemed to be stock full of young rippers. We even got the chance to go paddling with some of them afterwards with the Jackson Hole kids club.

Stuck in South Dakota!!

Wednesday, May 10th, 2006

The next morning after the event, our clutch went out 2 miles from laney’s house…
southdakota111.jpg

We called our friend Brett that had come to our event the night before, and he came to tow us into Rapid City.
southdakota12.jpg

Our boys from the Chevy Truck place had seen us on the news the night before, and stoked to give us a hand! Finding the replacement part has been a different story….
southdakota9.jpg

Brett invited us to stay at his house with his wife. It turned out that he was one of our biggest fans, having followed all of our kayak trips in the past. We had a fun time hanging with them last night!!
southdakota7.jpg

It is definitely hard being stuck here in South Dakota, sorry to all the kids in Bozeman that missed our visit today! Rest assured that we are still in VERY high spirits, and looking forward to getting back on the road!

The North Shore of Superior

Monday, May 8th, 2006

We hooked up with Ryan, Jason and Joe, and got to paddle one of the all time classic runs, Devils Track on the N. Shore of Lake Superior, MN about 2 hrs up shore from Duluth. We drove 22 hrs from Toronto for one day of paddling.
minnesota2.jpg

Tyler even claimed a first descent, with Ryan following right behind for a second!

Minnesota has the most concentrated amount of quality runs in the smallest area of anywhere we’ve seen. Each one spills right into Lake Superior.
